The Medical Faculty of Ulm University invites applications for the position of a

Professorship (W1) for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy with a focus on research methodological issues (f/m/d)

at the Ulm University, Medical Faculty in the Clinic Child and Adolescent Psychiatry/Psychotherapy
(Medical Director, Prof. Dr. Jörg M. Fegert).


The successful candidate is expected to represent the entire range of methodological issues in child and adolescent psychiatric and psychotherapeutic research and teaching in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry/Psychotherapy. Therefore, the professorship also requires clinical psychological knowledge. Furthermore, support in the conception of new teaching formats, e.g. in University Hospital for Advanced Education Ulm (TTU) and in the context of the numerous e-learning programs of the department and their evaluation is expected. The focus of research should be in the area of conception and evaluation, e.g., of prevention and intervention in child and adolescent mental health, in the context of adverse experiences in early childhood, coping in everyday life with chronic illness, and dealing with multiple forms of child maltreatment. The applicant is expected to contribute methodological expertise in this field with a focus on digitalization and AI. A general focus of the department is trauma research. In this respect, close interdisciplinary cooperation with the Center for Trauma Research and with other university working groups active in this field is expected. Methods like ecological momentary assessment and intervention play an increasing role in related research.
In addition to the general requirements under service law, the prerequisites for employment are a completed university degree in human medicine, psychology, other relevant social science disciplines, pedagogical aptitude, special qualification for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate (§51 Para. 2 LHG). Experience in research methodology is central. 

The employment is in the employment relationship usually limited to 6 years.
