In an interdisciplinary research projekt of the Institute of Human Genetics (Director Prof. Dr. Reiner Siebert) of Ulm University Medical Center and the Institute of Quantum Optics of Ulm University (Director Prof. Dr. Fedor Jelezko) we aim to develop new methods for the detection of (epi)genetic alterations in human diseases (e.g. tumors) by applying quantum sensing using e. g. biofunctionalised nanodiamonds.

Your assignment:
  • Performing research at the border between quantum sensing, medicine and biology
  • Developing of a new quantum sensing method to detect genetic and epigenetic alterations in human diseases including cancer
