Postdoctoral fellow (m/f/d) (Bio-)informatics, computational Biology

to explore patterns of innate immune activation by human pathogenic viruses using machine learning. We aim to predict strategies for targeted therapeutic immune modulation in viral and auto-inflammatory diseases and develop an in depth understanding of novel virus-sensing paradigms. The project is part of the BMBF-funded cluster of junior research groups in infection research that aim to develop novel therapeutic approach especially against multi-resistant pathogens. We actively support career development within the frameworks of Ulm University (ProTrainU and intra mural funding opportunities) and the Postdoc will also be associated with the CRC 1279 ( for advanced training opportunities. 

Required qualifications are:
  • a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Molecular Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or related subjects
  • interest in self-motivated work and solving complex scientific problems
  • excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of German is not essential)
