Postdoctoral fellow (m/f/d) (Bio-)informatics, computational Biology

to explore patterns of innate immune activation by human pathogenic viruses using machine learning. We aim to predict strategies for targeted therapeutic immune modulation in viral and auto-inflammatory diseases and develop an in depth understanding of novel virus-sensing paradigms. The project is part of the BMBF-funded cluster of junior research groups in infection research that aim to develop novel therapeutic approach especially against multi-resistant pathogens. We actively support career development within the frameworks of Ulm University (ProTrainU and intra mural funding opportunities) and the Postdoc will also be associated with the CRC 1279 (https://www.uni-ulm.de/med/sfb-1279-home/) for advanced training opportunities. 

Required qualifications are:
  • a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Molecular Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or related subjects
  • interest in self-motivated work and solving complex scientific problems
  • excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of German is not essential)
